Our team are incredibly proud to have won the Lawyers in Local Government Community Champion and Public Health award 2021, in recognition of our outstanding service to Gedling Borough Council and the residents and businesses of Gedling Borough during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Notable achievements include:

  • negotiating and completing an agreement with a crowdfunding provider to launch the “Giving for Gedling Appeal” which raised over £20,000 for local food banks
  • development and delivery of training for Covid-secure marshals and Enforcement Officers
  • negotiating and completing licence agreements for the first mass vaccination centre to open in the county, covid testing sites and an agreement to allow local businesses to utilise Council kitchen facilities to provide meals to vulnerable residents
  • completing a partnership arrangement for Council staff to support the vaccination centre
  • court action against premises not complying with legislation
  • interpretation of numerous coronavirus regulations to enable service changes at short notice whilst maintaining the integrity of our corporate governance arrangements
