As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme, Gedling Legal gives back to the local community by taking in work experience students interested in learning about the law and how we work and provide services to the council.

Our latest ‘recruit’ had the following to say about their experience:

“As I arrived on my first day of work experience I was very nervous, I have never previously been situated in a working office environment and was unsure as to how it would go. However, from the initial introductions the legal team made me feel very comfortable and assured me I had nothing to worry about. They provided me with my own desk straight away, this allowed me to have a level of independence and a place to do my designated research tasks without feeling I was getting in the way. When working with each member of the team, either individually or as a group, they have made an effort to ensure I understood the work they were doing and explain any technical terms that I did not understand. I felt I could ask any questions that came to mind during these tasks and was always provided with a helpful answer. I also believe I was given a very good balance of work, I never felt overloaded or bored and enjoyed the opportunities to get involved in real work.”
